Abstract

This thesis entitled “A Study of The Psychological Aspects of The Main Character in Naruto; A Comic by Masashi Kishimoto” and was aimed to analyze the structural model of personality of the main character in Naruto. That of psychological structure used in this study was those of Sigmund Freud’s; they were the Id, the Ego and the Superego. The id was the only component of personality that was present from birth. This aspect of personality was the source of all psychic energy, making it the primary component of personality. In Naruto, his Id was presented through the strong will he had in achieving his goal to be the strongest Ninja and to be acknowledged by his people in Konoha. Thereafter, the ego, the component of personality that was responsible for dealing with reality later developed. According to Freud, the ego developed from the id and ensured that the impulses of the id could be expressed in a manner acceptable in the real world, where in Naruto’s cases the Ego was portrayed through the actions he took that to never give in his dream. The Superego, the last component of personality to develop, the superego was the aspect of personality that holds all of our internalized moral standards and ideals that we acquire from both parents and society. Naruto was mostly abandoned the order of the group in most of the mission he took, however his ego had never led him to take a 9wrong verdict. That was represented the superego that existed in the Comic of Naruto. Key word: Characteristics, Psychological Structure, the Id, the Ego, and the Superego.
