Abstract

This research was aimed at knowing the students’ problems and strategies in overcoming difficulties of vocabulary itsself. This research was use qualitative research. The object of this research was students’ of the eighth grade at SMPN 1 Sakra Barat, that consisted of ten students’. Observation, interview, and questionnaire as instrument to collect the data.The result of the researchwas to showed that students’ get the problems of vocabulary. There are some problems most dominant was the difficulties in mastering vocabulary, environment was not supporting and lack of vocabulary. In overcoming the problems, the students’was used some strategies such as role-play, say the words. Key words: vocabulary, strategy, students’ problems.
