Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of using the Repeated Reading technique as a phonological practice tool on the pronunciation clarity of eleventh-grade EFL (English as a Foreign Language) students at MA Birrul Walidain NW Rensing. Pronunciation clarity refers to the ability to articulate speech sounds accurately, intelligibly, and in accordance with phonetic standards, including correct articulation, proper word stress, natural intonation, and speaking rhythm. Preliminary observations revealed that students still struggle to pronounce certain phonemes, misplace word stress, and use inappropriate intonation, which reduces speech intelligibility. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi experimental design, involving both experimental and control groups. Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests, and analyzed statistically to determine significant differences between groups. The findings are expected to demonstrate that the Repeated Reading technique effectively enhances EFL learners’ pronunciation clarity by providing repetitive practice opportunities that improve phoneme accuracy, word stress placement, intonation, and speaking rhythm. Keywords: pronunciation clarity, repeated reading, phonological practice, EFL, quasi-experimental design
