Abstract

This study aimed to describe the intrinsic elements and the educational value contained in the novel Sang Pemimpi by Andrea Hirata. Eighteenth print, March 2008, Jakarta. The technique of collecting data used technique. The data are analyzed trough flow analysis techniques (flow model of analysis). The result of the study showed that novel Sang Pemimpi gave many moral values such as religion education, moral education, and culture education. Conclusion of this study, namely (1) Novel Sang Pemimpi has a complete structure, consisted of themes, grooves, characterization, point of view, and background. The novel theme of the novel Sang Pemimpi is struggle and persistence in achieving the dream of having high knowledge. (2) The value of education in the novel Sang Pemimpi, namely; (a) the value of social education (b) the value of moral education (c) the value of religious education (d) the value of aesthetic education regarding Andrea’s authorship style that has special characteristics.
