Abstract

Education has a central role in development development and one aspect of improving human resources. Problems that still exist in the world of education are still low cognitive learning outcomes of students, especially in biology subjects, so it requires an action that can overcome these problems, one of which is by changing the learning process better. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the application of Numbered Head Together (NHT) Learning Model on Class X Cognitive Learning Outcomes of NW Sukarara High School 2017/2018 Academic Year. This type of research is experimental research using Quasi Experimental Design. The population in this study students of class X semester I consisting of 2 classes with a total of 33 students. The sample in this study is class X IPA as an experimental class and class X IPS as a control class using simple random sampling technique. The instruments in this study were tests of cognitive learning outcomes in the form of essay tests totaling 8 items. Based on the results of data analysis obtained the average value of the experimental class posttest is 72 and the control class is 67.65. While the hypothesis test using statistical analysis with the t-test formula at the 5% confidence level is obtained by t count of 1.61. After comparison with table 1.49, then t count 1.61> t table 1.49, so the conclusion in this study is that there is an effect of Numbered Head Together (NHT) Application on Class X Cognitive Learning Outcomes of NW Sukarara High School 2017/2018 Academic Year.
