Abstract

The purpose of the study was to find out the students’ interest in learning English as foreign language. This study was categorized as descriptive qualitative research which was conducted at SMAN 1 Sakra. The participants of the study consisted of 29 students chosen using random sampling at social class on twelfth grade in SMAN 1 Sakra. The research instruments used was interview and questionnaire. Based on the result, the researcher found that most of students at SMAN 1 Sakra are interested in learning English as foreign language, because the technique of teacher in teaching and learning English is attractive and the materials are interesting.
