Abstract

ETHNOSAIN STUDY AS A SOURCE OF SCIENTIFIC LITERATION IN SCIENCE LEARNING Author: Husnul Mukti, Marhamah, Baiq Fatmawati. Culture is a particultural community tradition that needs to be preserved, so that existence of a culture will become its own color in the region. The public knowledge system about cultural forms and traditions is an interesting science to study in relation to scientific knowledge which can be a source of literacy in school ;earning as well as general knowledge. This study examines ethnoscience in the medicinal system and culture processes during pregnancy in the sasak people. Ethnoscience itself is a knowledge system of local communities. The ethnoscience study in this study examines knowledge of form of cultural activity and its understanding of culture itself. This study uses a qualitative method in which data collection uses observation, documentation, and interviews. The approach used in this research is to use the spradley ethnographic approach. The result of this study are expected to be able to become a reference material for other researchers to devolved further research which is able to provide a clear picture of ethnoscince itself, expected to be a reference in science learning to schools that introduces local culture as a source of scientific literacy. key words: Ethnoscience study, Scientific literacy, Science Learnig
