Abstract
Fever is the body's natural response in fighting infections that enter the body and is a sign of a disease. A person is said to have a fever if the body temperature exceeds normal body temperature, which reaches 37.5°C (Hartini and Putri, 2015. This study used the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) method to select articles that met the requirements. A search was conducted in the Google Schoolar and PubMed database. As a result of the interpretation of the research found in selected studies and shown in the meta-analysis, 5 ingredients in red onion were obtained that can treat fever, namely: phloroglucin, cycloallin, metiallin, kaemferol, and essential oils. known to reduce body temperature and essential oils that can improve blood circulation so it is very important in maintaining a healthy body. Giving onion compresses can be given to children who have a fever. Giving red onion compresses can make the body temperature drop and the condition becomes calmer. Onion compresses provide significant differences in body temperature akna before and after compressed shallots. Keywords: shallots, body temperature, fever
