Abstract

This study is aimed to determine the effect of PBL models through experimental methods and demonstrations in terms of students critical thinking skills to the achievement of learning harmonic vibration material class X IPA SMAN 1 Sukamulia in the academic year 2017/2018. This type of research is experimental research, with a 2x2 factorial design. The population in this study were all students of class X IPA at SMAN 1 Sukamulia. The research sample was determined by random sampling technique. Class X IPA-1 is the experimental class while X IPA-2 is the control class. Data collection techniques of collecting data using tests. Data analysis uses two-way anava. The result of the study show; 1) There is the influence of PBL models through experimental methods and demonstration to learning achievement of harmonic vibration material, this can be seen from the Fcount > Ftable (7,69 > 4,06) which means HoA is rejected. Tukey’s HSD calculation shows the mean difference > HSD is 8,76 > 6,36. The calculation of tukey’s HSD shows the mean difference 8,76 > 6,36 HSD, which means the PBL model through experiment methods gives better effect compared with the PBL model through demonstration method, 2) there is influence of critical thingking skills in high and low categories to achievement learn, this can be seen from the Fcount > Ftable is 9,39 > 4,06. Which means that HoB is rejected. Tukey’s HSD calculation show mean difference > HSD (9,68 > 6,36), 3) theres is no interaction between PBL models through experimental methods and demonstration of learning achievement of harmonic vibration materials.
