Abstract

This study aims to find out the types of figure and images in the colection of poems “I am a Bitch Animal” class of 1948 by Chairil Anwar. The method used qualitative descriptive research. The research technique used is reading notes technique. As for results obtained 43 data among other : 1) 5 datas of hyperbola, 2) 2 datas of personification, 3) 5 datas of mesodiplosis, 4) 3 datas of anaphora 5) 1 data of anadiplosis, 6) 1 data of repetition, 7) 10 datas of vission, 8) 12 datas of motion, 9) 2 datas of auditory image, 10) 1 data of image sense, and 11) 1 data of image olfaction. The word, phrases, and time contained in Chairil Anwar poetry 1948 mostly describre the exsessive statements by exaggerating something and many use repetition of words, phrases and sentences in poetry lines, then many contain images or images so that lovers of poetry can imagine and drift into the flow of poetry that makes the atmosphere becomes more alive.
