Abstract

The objectives of the current study can be formulated as follows: (1) To find out the effectiveness of a priority material procedure in teaching speaking at an uncharted area in pandemic era, (2) To identify how far the effectiveness of a priority material procedure in teaching speaking at an uncharted area in pandemic era. The sample of this study was 8 children of a class at an uncharted area in pandemic era. Designed as pre-experimental research, the techniques of collecting data were pre-test and post-test. Oral test using picture was the instrument used to collect the data. The final result of descrictive statistic revealed that a priority material procedure was effective, based on the children achievement of post-test (63.6250) was higer than the mean score of pre-test (34.5000). After analyzing the data to a paired samples t-test, it was found that there was a positive and significant difference in the mean scores between the pre-test and the post-test, t(df=7)=17.291 at p=.0.05; it meant that the null hypothesis was rejected and alternative hypothesis was accepted. Thus, this material procedure was significantly effective in teaching speaking for the children in pandemic era. Key Word: a priority material procedure, telling time, speaking ability
