Abstract
This study aimed at examining the effectiveness of using the quartet cards game to improve students speaking skills. This research was a pre-experimental research with pre-test and post-test design. It was conducted at the seventh grade of MTs Yadinu Banok in the school year 2023-2024. The sample consisted of 15 students selected by clauster random sampling. The data was collected using a speaking test. In addition to descriptive statistics the collected data were submitted to a paired sample t-test. The mean score of post-test (60.67) was higer than that of pre�test (41.67). The result of the paired sample t-test indicated that there was a significant difference in the mean scores between pre-test and post-test, t= -12.838 at p= 0.05. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the method was effective in teaching speaking skills using a quartet cards game. Keywords:Quartet cards game, Speaking skills.
