Abstract
This study explores the effectiveness of the One Minute Talk technique in improving speaking skills of the second-semester students in the study program of English Education at Hamzanwadi University. This research is a Quasi experimental research. To collect the data, the researcher used pre-test, treatment, and post-test. The participants included 58 students as sample at Hamzanwadi University. The results indicate a significant contribution of one minute talk in teaching speaking skills, particularly in the aspect of speaking ability. The data showed that the average score on the pre-test was -7.79 with a standard deviation of 7.456. In the post-test, the average score increased to -4.956, and the standard deviation decreased to -10.629. Based on these results, the significance value is <0.05, indicating that the research hypothesis is accepted. This means that One Minute Talk is effective for teaching speaking skills, particularly in the aspect of speaking ability. Keyword : One Minute Talk, speaking ability
