Abstract

This study investigates the effects of using Spotify podcasts on enhancing listening skills among students. The research employed a pre-experimental design, and data were collected using multiple-choice tests. The sample consisted of 20 students from class XI IPA at SMA Yadinu Masbagik. The findings indicate that the use of Spotify podcasts significantly improves listening skills and engagement compared to traditional teaching methods. Data analysis revealed that the average score on the pre-test was 63.00 with a standard deviation of 6.959. Following the implementation of Spotify podcasts, the average score on the post-test increased to 84.75, while the standard deviation decreased to 5.250. The significance value of the results was <0.05, indicating that the observed differences are statistically significant. Thus, the research hypothesis was accepted, meaning that Spotify podcasts proved effective in improving students' listening skills.
