Abstract

This paper attempts to determine the impact of Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) on success of English language learning in terms of reading. Quantitative data are performed experimentally and are collected using pre-test, treatment, and post-test techniques, providing multiple-choice tests before and after the using method. Test scores before applying the method only 65% of the students speak English, but after using the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) method, the students’ English reading skill to 80%. Meanwhile, the research results also show that the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) method is effective in improving students’ English skill. Applying Culturrally Responsive Teaching (CRT) method in learning English, especially reading ability, is the right strategy to improve students’ ability, because it can transform concepts abstractions come true in the classroom.
