Abstract

The purpose of this research was to examine and determine the relationship between grit, interest in learning EFL, and listening to academic communication in EFL learners. This research was conducted at Hamzanwadi University on 25 active students of the English study program. This research uses quantitative methods with a correlational design. The instruments used to collect data are questionnaires and tests. Data analysis was performed by T-test and F-test to determine the correlation value. The results of the research show that: (1) there was a significant negative correlation between grit and listening with a value of sig = 0.00 > 0.05, and t = -7.512 < t table = 2.074 (2) there was a significant positive correlation between interest and listening with a value of sig = 0.00 < 0.05, t count = 12.610 > t table = 2.073 and (3) there was a significant positive correlation among grit, EFL interest and listening with a value of sig = 0.00 < 0, 05 and F count = 79.554> F table = 3.42. The correlation percentage of X1 and X2 with Y is 86.7%. Keyword: grit, interest, listening
